It's the 25th. anniversary of the movie "A Christmas Story"
And it was on cable tonight.
It's such a fun movie, and us Clevelanders are especially fond of it, because it was filmed right here in Cleveland!
"Ralphie's House" really exists, and it has been restored, and turned into a Gift Shop and museum! I haven't had a chance to get there yet, but it's open all year long, So maybe I'll wait till the Christmas crowds are gone, and go next month for my birthday with my sisters.

You can visit the website:
A really cool website, with lots of information for the "Christmas Story" fans.
Be sure to see all the cool photographs of the house as it was restored to the original look it had in the movie. There are lots of pictures of some of the actors, like "Scut Farkus the Bully" and "Randy" Ralph's little brother.
You can even buy your very own Leg Lamp! And really cool collectable ornaments.
I especially love the "Triple Dog Dare" Ornament... (Flicks tongue "moves" back and forth!)
And the Hallmark 2008 "Major Award" (Leg Lamp) ornament...
They're soooo cute!!!!!!!
Besides Ralphie's house, the Christmas parade scene, was filmed right in downtown Cleveland, as well as the scene when Ralphie visits Santa Claus, which was filmed in our Beloved (now gone) Higbee's Department store. They used lots of locals in the movie, when it was made back in 1983.
So, if you're ever in Cleveland, This is another "must see" to put on your list, along with The Rock Hall of Fame, and other great spots in Cleveland.
There have been a lot of movies filmed here, most recently, was the latest version of
"Spiderman." They shut Euclid Avenue ( a major street in downtown Cleveland) down for almost 2 weeks! and the scene is not even 2 minutes long!
Look how cute Peter Billingsly (Ralphie) is now!

I love that movie! It's one I never get tired of. It is a classic. Nothing that exciting ever happens in our town, except that Brad Pitt is from here and every now and then he and Angelina come back to visit his parents. I would LOVE to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! What day in Jan. is your birthday? Hope you are having a good week! Twyla
