Well, I did it... I did some art!
After getting up so early on Saturday,
I started cleaning the artroom.. (check it out!)well, straighten is more like it. But it's
much better now. I need to just take a whole
day, and pull everything out, and really
organize it all... one of these days.
Anyway, I sat down to do art, around 10 a.m.
and worked all day. It was great.
I love Halloween, and love making Halloween
art, so I was having a great time.
It was pretty humid this weekend, good thing
there was a breeze coming through those windows!
The craft show is just a small thing. So I'm trying to keep it simple. No big fancy paintings,
just little magnets, and do-dad things. I could use the extra money, and it's a good reason
to do art. I went to bed about 1 a.m. and got up at 9 a.m. ... suprisingly, I didn't even sleep in!
I bounced out of bed, and jumped in the shower, then back into the artroom. Only stopping
because I had to go to great nephew Carmen's birthday party. I couldn't resist stopping at Pat Catan's on the way... and ended up spending 1 1/2 hrs. in there! The Bedford location is bigger and better, than the Parma store. So I picked up more stuff.... yikes...
I got back from the party, and headed right back to work. It was great!
I watched the Emmy Awards, and loved some of the dresses. Lots of Plum colors, and Lacey gowns. I really dislike Conan O'Brien.. glad he wasn't on so much.
So... I'm getting sleepy. Can't believe the weekend is gone again. Well atleast I got somethings done!
Check them out. These are 4 x 6 magnets/hangings. I've got a few other things in the works. I figure what I don't sell at the craftshow, I can stick on Etsy.
It's funny, when I make new art, I love looking at it. I'll drag it around with me. Right now, all these pieces shown, are sitting on my computer desk. I fall in love with each piece. They're like
my "new children" in a way. That they were kind of living up in my head, and now here they are! I hope that doesn't sound too strange! LOL....
So........ I'm just watching the time tick by. It's 12:52 a.m The weekend is offically over... : (
Time to wind down, and go to bed. Another week awaits.
Hope you have a great week.. who ever you are, and wherever you are!
Bless You!

The crack of dawn....
Wow! look at me!... I'm up! it's 7:25 a.m on a Saturday morning.... this is unheard of for me..I like to sleep in on my Saturdays. No alarm clocks, no rushing off to work.
I thought I'd capture the moment, with a picture of the sunrise, and my "healthy" breakfast, Bacon, Eggs, Italian bread toast, coffee, (In my favorite cup) and Pepsi..... ya really. It's wierd I guess, the coffee tastes good, But not good when you're thirsty.. thus the Pepsi.
I actually woke up, around 5:30 a.m. really!
I laid down to take a quicky nap last night....around10 p.m... nap you say?... well for me it was, I like to take a little nap, then get up, and stay up late, on Friday nights. I'm more creative late at night, and it's just what I like to do. So anyway I'm up nice and early, still have the whole day ahead of me. I plan on cleaning my really messy artroom, then get in there and do some art! I'm inspired because I just signed up for a local art show, and I'm excited because I can do some Halloween stuff. I always get in the mood to make all things Black and Orange, this time of the year.
The show is just a small thing, put on by an area Mall. But who cares? I get to make art!
......Update. I overcooked my Eggs.. lol.. I like to dunk my toast, and it just wasn't happening this morning... oh well..
I'M UP EARLY!!!!
I went to Joanne Fabrics, in the new "CITY VIEW" shopping center, yesterday after work. I'm loyal to my favorite craft place "PAT CATAN'S"... they have 40% off most items everyday, but I thought I'd check out the new place. I was in there for 2 1/2 hours! wow. Yes, I'm a browser. I checked out the Halloween stuff, for inspiration, almost bought 2 white washed metal garden chairs... (70% off! ....would have come to just $24 for both chairs!!!!) I resisted the templation, and walked away.
I spent 1/2 hour in the scrapbook paper section. Paper on sale, 6 sheets for 96 cents.. (what happened to the "cent" sign?.. ya know, there used to be one on old typewriters)
They even had "BASIC GREY" papers on sale too. I had seem them on the internet, but never in person... wow.. I think I actually said "OH!" out loud! Yes, very cool. I looked around, and there were about five other women in the isle with me. each starting on the left, and slowly working their way down, eyes fixed on each colorful row. I had a brief conversation with one of them. She was choosing papers for a baby book. She asked which paper I thought worked best together, she pointed out a whole other section of papers for me to oggle, Then said she had already had over $40 worth the papers in her cart.... "shhhhh, don't tell my husband... (laughter).. he says if our house ever catches fire, it will be because of all this paper!" After looking at all the papers, I abrubtly turned away. "I have to get out of here" I said out loud, muffled giggles could be heard from the other paper addicts. I grabbed my basket, and walked away. As I passed other art goodies, I just kept saying "don't look, don't look" in my head. I made my way to the register, without grabbing one more thing!
So now, going through my bags, I realize the glue, and "Foamies" sheets I bought, are no where to be found. I checked my receipt, and they're on it. Damn. When I was checking out, I had put a few things back, and I think my things might have ended up in the "put back" pile. So now I have to make another trip back to Joanne's.... Grrrrrrr. Ya, I'm thinking about those things I put back... will I be tempted to get them now?........ stay tuned.
Ok.. It's 8:01... I think I need to get my dead butt out of this chair.. and DO all the things I said I would today. I'll get by without those forgotten items for now. I'm sure I have plenty to work with.... have you seen my artroom?
More later... have a great Saturday!

Mentally moving....
My new apartment?
...maybe.
Last weekend, my best
friend Gloria and I, went
to look at apartments for me.
I've lived in my current place
for 11 years. I like where I live,
but it's time for a change.
Right now I have Living room,
dining room, 3 bedrooms,
1 1/2 baths, laundry room. It's
alot of house for me.
I never thought I'd move. I love it here.
I lived upstairs for three years, and Gloria lived down stairs. (of a double home) When she moved to Medina, which is about 30 miles from Cleveland.
I moved downstairs, and I've been here ever since. Gloria loves it in Medina, and
keeps trying to get me to move there too. That was like telling me to move to China...
It was never gonna happen. I've been in this area my whole life... why would I move?
then it occured to me. Nothing was keeping
me here any longer. The kids are done with
school, and all on there own,
Most of my friends have moved away.
Only my job, that's just 4 minutes away.
So why not move????
So I did it. I started looking for a place to move.
I went to Gloria's last weekend, and she and I went to a couple places. One she had seen when a friend of ours was apartment hunting.
I had a list of apartments I wanted to see in the Brunswick, and Medina area. The first one, that I thought had everything I was looking for, was disapointing. It was cramped, and not much space. The second... Glorias favorite... was perfect! well.. almost, the only thing missing was a patio. These are the pics. Isn't it cool??? I love the Bay window.
It's spacious, light, and airy. And now I can't stop thinking about living there. I've mentally moved in, and decorated. .. ah I wish.l
I won't really be able to move till next year. I have bills to take care of, and I house full of junk to clean out. ... yes... I'm a pack rat. Today, I actually started to "purge." I tackled my laundry room...
AKA... the dump sight for things with no home. Right now, beside the washer and dryer. There are several boxes of daughter Jamies stuff, that she never took with her when she
moved out three years ago. The top part of
my mothers hutch, sitting on a small dresser.
A 1920's Enamel top table, that was buried under unfolded laundry. A small computer desk, an air conditioner, chair, .... well. you get the point. So today, I "found" the table again. Threw out 3 bags of garbage. It's a start, but at this rate
I might not be ready to move till 2008!!.. yikes.
The table is adorable. It was Glorias, and she left it for me. I thought about selling it, in a garage sale before I move... but then Gloria suggested I use it in my "new" kitchen.. PERFECT! It's small enough, and definitely funky enough. It just needs a fresh coat of paint.
I'm so excited about moving. Not the moving part, just having a cool apartment, and the fact that I will have dumped alot of junk! No more hallway linen closets, and window seat drawers for me to fill with "stuff." So.. the other set back is, having to find another job closer to Medina... ( I refuse to commute 60 miles every day) and coordinating
a new job and moving. Timing is everything!
Ok. So wish me luck! I'm hoping by this time next year, I can be writing about my new apartment, and the new job.. that pays so much more than where I "was"....... ya right. :-P

Little Carmen....
Shhhhhhh!baby sleeping!
This was taken last night when I babysat for my two year old (great) nephew Carmen. He is the sweetest little boy. He barely noticed when his mom and dad left. Of course he had his favorite bat and ball with him, and also his batting helmut. He has become obsessed with baseball!
We watched Toy Story, drank "Invisible Kool-Aid", ate dinner (he loved my Garlic homefries) watched tv. He was so sweet all evening. I rocked him in my computer chair, and he slowly began getting drowsy. I put down a blanket and pillow on the floor, and said "ok Carmen, lets go night night." He layed down without any fuss, and watched tv through sleepy eyes. Giggled for a moment after watching the snapper guy, "Bobby Badfingers" on "Americas got Talent. He was a complete angel.
His mom, Antje, is expecting a baby in October. It's going to be a girl! and she and husband Michael, might name her "Gabriella".. oh I love that name. Cross yer fingers.
So. now I'm kinda nervous. After this whole terrorist/airport thing.
My daughter Jamie is Flying to Las Vegas with her girlfriend, and her parents, in the morning.
I guess it's a good thing flying with such tightened security. I hate the times we live in.
The simplest pleasures, become stressful now.
Oh well. I'll just feel better once she calls from Vegas tomorrow.
I'm saying an extra prayer tonight.
